울릉도에서 먹었던 것들 [점심식사 편] - Things I ate in Ulleungdo [For Lunch]

와, 아침식사 편을 올린 후 1달이 넘어서야 점심식사편을 쓰게 되었다. 울릉도를 다녀와서 너무 정신이 없었던 탓인거겠지만 ㅜㅜ 흑흑 

 

[ 점심식사 - For Lunch]

 

[성인봉 하산 후 너무 정신이 없고 피곤했어서 그런지 사진을 미처 찍지 못했다. 흑흑 I was so tired after hiking and couldn't take any pictures, unfortunately.]

 

1. 늘푸른산장식당 (Neul Pureun Sanjang Sikdang Restaurant) - 산채비빔밥 (Wild Green Bibimbob), 도토리묵 (Acorn Jelly Salad) 

 

추천? 엄청나게 추천하고 싶은 맛은 솔직히 아니다. 이게 개인취향인것 같긴 하지만 매우 매우 매우 매에에우 건강한 맛이다. 늘푸른산장식당은 성인봉 하산길 나리분지 트레킹 코스의 끝에 위치에 있는데, 정말 산중턱이라 그런지 모든 메뉴의 재료를 산에서 직접공수를 해오시는 것 같았다. 그래서 그런지 정말 혀끝에서 느껴지는 자연의 맛ㅎㅎ 성인봉을 하산하고 먹어서 그런지 정말 정신이 하나도 없었다. 그런 와중에도 느껴지는 신선한 자연의 맛이니, 대충 읽으시는 분들은 어떤 느낌인지 아시리라 믿는다. 늘푸른산장식당에서 가장 인상 깊었던 건 아무래도 산장의 주인분과 직원분들이 정말 너무너무 친절하시다는 것이었다. 산을 힘들게 힘들게 다녀온 것을 아셔서 그런지 정말 살뜰하게 챙겨주셨다. 감사합니당 ㅜㅜ

 

Recommend? Yes, if you are really hungry after hiking and if you like natural, healthy-type foods (unlike me haha). This restaurant is located right after you finish hiking the Seonginbong mountain, towards the end of the Naribunji hiking trail.  Most of the ingredients (wild greens mostly) used in the restaurant seemed to be picked directly from the Seonginbong mountain. So all the menus tasted really really fresh, natural and healthy. I remember the taste even after a 6-hour hiking so I think the wild greens tasted pretty strong and foreign to me (even to a Korean person like myself). The servers/staff at the restaurant were very kind and nice (this I remember very vividly).

2. 태양식당 (Taeyang Sikdang Restaurant) - 따개비칼국수 (Takebi Noodle Soup) *"Takebi" means barnable in Korean

 

추천? 맛있다. 맛있는데.. 추천을 하고싶진 않다. 이유는 곧 설명을 할것이다. 울릉도 따개비칼국수 식당으로 1순위는 아니었지만 1순위였던 곳이 문을 닫아서 (1순위는 원래 도동쪽 박가네였는데, 문을 닫아서 전화를 해보니 사장님께서 볼일이 있으셔서 육지(포항)에 나와계신다고 하셨다 ㅜㅜ) 가게 된 곳. 따개비칼국수를 처음 먹어봤지만 맛있었다. 참 맛있었다. 근데 위생상태가 너무 너무 안좋았다. 식당에 들어가자마자 본 것은 메뉴판에 다다다다 붙어있는 파리들. 사실 이 파리들을 보고 입맛이 뚝 떨어졌다. 그래서 사장님께 파리들 좀 없는 자리가 있을지 여쭤봤는데, 인상 좋으신 사장님께서 우리에게 사과를 하시며 바로 옆이 오징어 공장이라 본인들도 파리 때문에 골머리를 썩고 있다고 하셨다. 이 이야기를 듣고 '아 오징어 공장때문에 어쩔수 없으시구나' 생각하고 그런가보다 하고 그냥 아무자리에 앉았다. 그리고 맛있게 주문한 칼국수를 후루루룩 먹었다. 식사를 마친 뒤 계산을 하고 사장님께 잘먹었다는 인사를 전하며 식당을 나오려는데.. 내 눈에 뚜껑이 닫히지 않은 채로 그냥 방치되어있는 여러개의 반찬통들이 포착이 되었다. 이걸 보고 느낀건.. '그래 오징어 공장 때문에 파리들이 있는건 어쩔수없다 치는데.. 그냥 포기하신건지 뭔지 모르겠지만 일말의 노력을 하시지는 않는구나..' 였다. 파리가 많은 걸 알면 당연히 최소한의 노력으로 반찬통 정도는 뚜껑이나 아니면뚜껑이 없다면 랩?같은 걸로 막아둬야 하지 않을까? 그걸 그대로 뚜껑없이 파리의 먹잇감으로 방치해두는건.. 그냥 오징어 공장의 잘못도 뭐도 아닌 주인분들의 무관심이라고 느껴졌다.  

 

Recommend? It is good but I don't want to recommend it and I will tell you why. This restaurant wasn't our first choice but our first choice, which was "Park ga ne restaurant" was closed when we went. So we went to Taeyang Sikdang Restaurant, which was our backup option. Although it was our first time having the Takebi noodles, it was so good. Really good. However, what really turned us down was the overall sanitary condition of the restaurant. The first thing we saw as we entered the restaurant were flies lying everywhere so we asked the owner, who was actually really really nice to us, if there are any tables with no flies. The owner immediately apologized to us and said she also does not know what to do about the flies because there is a squid factory right next door. We understood and sat todwn and finished our bow of delicious Takebi noodles. And as we were heading out, I spotted a bunch of premaid sidedishes exposed without any cover or protection from the flies. And I felt, 'I understand about the squid factory but the owner actually does not even try to do anything about the issue.' She could have covered the sidedishes with food wrap. And I realized that the issue is not the squid factory but it is the ignorance of the restaurant owners.

3. 롯데리아 (Lotteria in Ulleungdo) 울릉도점 - 한우불고기버거 

 

추천? 울릉도는 굉장히 특별한 곳이다. 특별하다고 느낀 수많은 이유 중에 하나는 서울에 그 흔한 체인점이 좀 처럼 보이지 않는다는 것이다. 스벅도 없다. 유일한 커피 체인점은 작년인가?에 생긴 컴포즈 커피이다. 맥도날드도 버거킹도 없다. 유일한 햄버거체인점은 롯데리아다. 그래서 마지막날 배를 타기 직전에 울릉도의 유일한 햄버거 가게에 들려 한우불고기버거를 먹었다. 뭐 패스트푸드가 사실 거기서 거기라 울릉도라고 해서 뭐 다를까 싶었지만, 놀랍게도 달랐다. 그것도 많이. 일단 패스트푸드의 대명사인 햄버거치곤 시간이 꽤 많이 걸렸다 (한 15분~20분 정도?). 그게 사람이 많고 이래서가 아니라 사실 손님은 우리밖에 없었다. 근데 근무를 하는 직원도 1명뿐이었다. 이 1명의 직원이 우리의 햄버거를 아주 정성스럽게 거의 수제버거(?) 수준으로 한땀한땀 만들어주시느라 시간이 오래걸린것이었다. 우리의 번호가 울리고 햄버거를 받았을땐 정말 너무너무 따뜻했다. 그 어떤 롯데리아에서도 이렇게까지 따뜻한 햄버거를 먹어본적이 있었던가.. 역시 음식은 따뜻할 때 먹어야 하는게 맞는게.. 정말 정말 맛있었다!!

 

Recommend? Ulleungdo island is such a special place and one of the reasons why I felt this way is because there are not many fastfood chains that are easily spotted in Seoul. In fact, there is only 1 coffee chain (which is Compose Coffee, which I believe opened in 2020) and only 1 fastfood restaurant, Lotteria (no McDonalds, no BurgerKing). So in order to eat at the one and only fastfood chain in all of Ulleungdo, we went to Lotteria Ulleungdo on our last day. We didn't have much expectations because we went to Lotteria in Seoul so many times and afterall, should all Lotteria burgers taste the same? Isn't that what fastfood chain is all about? However, our bulgogi burger at Lotteria Ulleungdo was different, totally different. We were the only customers at Lotteria Ulleungdo when we visited and there was only 1 server who happened to be also the cook. And it took her more than 15? 20 minutes to serve us with our burgers. Our burgers were very very warm. It was so fresh. It was almost like eating a gourmet style burger. We have never had such freshly cooked, warm burgers at a fastfood restaurant and it was awesome!
